I agree that there’s too much expected of women. That hit me hard once I got married.
I became much more aware of being compared to my male colleagues at work but also was taken aback by how fulfilled I was taking care of my husband and our home.
I didn’t resent all that I had to do around the house, but I resented feeling like a failure for finding it all to be a lot.
I may take some heat for this, but what would fulfill me most is having a few kids and homeschooling them. I’m shocked by this since I was very career focused until marriage and began to feel so much shame about it. But now I do not care. I’m committed to doing what’s best for our family. Right now, that’s working. In the future, who knows.
My point is this. We can probably all agree that expecting women to do everything is BS.
