Re-Introducing Myself
I’ve been gone for a while. Let’s talk about it.
In 2022, I fell off the face of the earth — digitally speaking, at least. As much as I wanted to keep up with my weekly articles, I couldn’t. Here’s why.
In the space of 6 months, I got a promotion, switched jobs, got engaged, bought a house, moved, tied the knot, and brought home a puppy.
Now that I’m happily married, settled in at work, and not getting my ass handed to me trying to run a joint household for the first time, I’m ready to write again.
I can’t guarantee my old cadence just yet, but I’m happy to be back. I’ve learned more over the past few months about my finances, relationships and myself — than I ever did in those critical first years out of college — and I’m bursting at the seams to share it all.
I am and always will be obsessed with all things personal finance and building wealth. But I’m going to be sprinkling in some new themes along the way as I navigate this radically new stage of life that I find myself in.
From planning a low budget wedding to making a few critical pre- and post-nuptial money moves that started my marriage off on the right foot, I hope that what I have to share can save you some headaches and a whole lot of cash if you are or find yourself in a similar situation in the future.
To this entire community, thank you for your support, well wishes, and thoughtful comments. They have meant more to me than I can even put into words. Thank you for giving me a platform to share a part of my life, for challenging me along the way, and for allowing me to learn and grow during such an eventful couple of years.
Here’s to another exciting year together,
Rachel
