I used to not care much for Target. We had one where I grew up, but it was a ways away, poorly laid out, and kind of dirty most times I went in. It wasn’t until I moved to a new city over the summer that I saw what all the fuss was about with this retailer. Between needing new shoes for work, a few outfits for going back to in-person church, and the standard moving essentials, I was hooked within a few trips. But never one to pay full price, even at a discount retailer, I quickly discovered more than a few hacks to save hundreds on my everyday essentials.

Here are the 20 tricks I swear by to save big at Target.

1. Sign Up For Every Registry You Can

Whether you’re going off to college, bringing home a new pet, moving, getting married, or having a baby, creating a registry can get you exclusive discounts over and above any gifts you receive. The baby registry also comes with over $150 worth of free samples and coupons on a wide variety of baby gear in addition to a 12 month return policy. And for all registries, you’ll get a 10–15% discount on anything you decide to buy yourself.

2. Shop The Discount Schedule
